Shenandoah Evans, MS
Shenandoah Evans joined the International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI) in 2012. As director of communications, she is responsible for developing and implementing IANPHI's communications strategy and work plan that includes online efforts through the website, newsletter, social media, e-publications, print materials and reports; risk communication in health emergencies; intra-office database management; NPHI relationship building; media relations; and the IANPHI communications website and technical service program available to low resource members.
Evans has worked with Emory University since 2009 as a communications consultant to Emory programs including the Institute for Developing Nations, the Master’s in Development Practice program, and the Vulnerability and Human Condition Initiative, Development Studies, Anthropology, and Bioethics. Prior to that, she spent 10 years as a public relations manager, editorial journalist, and communication consultant. To date, she has studied, worked and/or lived in 8 countries, across four continents, over 8 years. She holds degrees in both the environmental studies and communication from the University of California, Santa Barbara and received her Master of Science from Cornell University.
