Senior Business Analyst, CHAMPS
Patrick Caneer has over 15 years of experience in technology, business process improvement methodologies, developing business requirements, custom software design, implementation, and enhancement.
Caneer joined the Public Health Informatics Institute (PHII) from Emory University, where he served as the assistant director of Clinical Research Business Process and IT Solutions in Emory’s Libraries and Information Technology Services division. In this role, he was responsible for the management and strategic direction of the Clinical Research IT Program and a portfolio of custom applications.
Prior to joining Emory University, Caneer held technical and operation positions at the Cleveland Clinic’s Lerner Research Institute Division of Biomedical Engineering, serving as the research program manager for the Multiple Sclerosis MRI Analysis Center. Additionally, he worked as an independent strategic technology and operations consultant in health care, marketing, and sales. Caneer has served at all levels of the health care field, from student-volunteer research assistance and entry-level care provider to operational management and enterprise technology development.
His professional skills include a broad range of business and technology areas. His professional interests are the use of business process improvement and informatics principles to develop new insights and innovative solutions to health problems.
Caneer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in public health informatics at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health.
