Dr. Beth A. Tippett Barr

Dr. Beth A. Tippett Barr is a seasoned public health expert with 15 years of experience in Southern and Eastern Africa. She has a wide range of expertise in health research, program design and implementation, health policy development and international health diplomacy. She has represented CDC in the engagement of host Governments, Global Fund, multilateral partners and implementing organizations in complex negotiations and coordination of funding and programs.
As a skilled epidemiologist, she is recognized for her technical support to Malawi’s Ministry of Health in conceptualizing, planning, implementing and evaluating the National PMTCT Option B+ Program, and for spearheading the data-driven transition of the PEPFAR-Zimbabwe program from a focus on technical assistance through the massive scale-up of human resource based interventions, rapidly accelerating progress towards HIV epidemic control.
