Senior Advisor for Community Engagement, CHAMPS
Dr. John Blevins is CHAMPS’s Senior Advisor for Community Engagement. Dr. Blevins is an Associate Research Professor in the Hubert Department of Global Health at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory. He directs the Interfaith Health Program at Rollins, which examines the influences of religion as a social force on health beliefs, behaviors, policies, and programs.
Dr. Blevins has worked on community engagement programs in local communities in various global contexts and believes that strong sustainable public health collaborations can only be achieved by listening to the members of communities who are the experts in their own health needs and behaviors.
Dr. Blevins is excited to be part of CHAMPS and is excited at the opportunity to learn from and work with communities that will become part of the CHAMPS network in order to improve childhood and maternal health.
