Project Manager, Data Sciences and Access
Margaret Basket is a Project Manager for the Data Sciences and Access team, where she works to impart process and organization to software development and IT efforts.
Basket transitioned from a career as a mechanical engineer to the health information sector before she joined CHAMPS. She has worked at various information-based start-up companies in product management, and as well as an account manager in the pharmaceutical industry for the publisher Elsevier. She joined the Public Health Informatics Institute at the Taskforce for Global Health after five years developing, testing, and implementing population management software platforms for Forward Health Group in Madison, Wisconsin. Basket's professional interests include software design and development, agile project management, and user-centered design. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Basket holds a Bachelor of Science from Michigan Technological University, as well as a Master of Science in Information from University of Michigan, which was followed by a two-year fellowship at the National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. Basket is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and served as a rural health care agent in Senegal, West Africa.
