Who We Are

The CHAMPS Promise

Locally

We empower communities by sharing insights from our data on causes of child death like malaria, pneumonia, and malnutrition in children under five. This informs interventions at different levels and equips families and officials to prevent infant and child deaths with life-saving actions.

Nationally

CHAMPS partners with national public health institutes and ministries, using child mortality surveillance data to drive evidence-based policies. This ensures better nutrition, immunization, and reduces preventable child deaths, advancing child survival action.

Globally

Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3, we aim to end preventable infant and child deaths by 2030. Utilizing real-time data and insights, we guide investments and policies that address the causes of child mortality globally. This enables CHAMPS to improve health interventions and enhance research and actions, ultimately saving lives.

  • Objective 1: Identify and track definitive causes of stillbirth and child mortality using MITS and cutting-edge diagnostics.
  • Objective 2: Disseminate and communicate CHAMPS findings to key stakeholders to influence policy action and maternal and child health services.
  • Objective 3: Use the CHAMPS network to implement, investigate, and test data-driven interventions for reducing maternal and child mortality.
  • Objective 4: Enhance operational efficiency and Network excellence to accelerate program progress and impact.
